Birthday at Disneyland

Well many of you know we are spending the weekend at the Happiest
Place on Earth with many of our 'playgroup' buddies. Even though we
haven't actually had playgroup for maybe 2 years. Coincidentally,
yesterday was also my 31st birthday. It was definitely one of my best
birthdays yet.
We started out by being in line before the park opened . . . all 28 of
us. Right after I swiped my ticket to get in, some of my friends did
a soccer style 'spirit tunnel' which you'd only get a kick out of if
you've been around our soccer team at all. It was hilarious and
awesome. Then we waited on Main Street for a bit longer- and my mom
bought us all mochas. Very fun- and necessary! Not long after that,
my girlfriends surprised me with personalized birthday Mickey Mouse
Ears. Very fun!
Our first ride was on Dumbo. Let me tell you- Dumbo is fun anyway, but
with 28 of your friends and family? It's really, really FUN!
Throughout the day families would go on some rides together, then
split up and do what worked for their family and kids. Some people
went back for naps, some didn't.
Maddy's good buddy Diana also had a birthday yesterday, so they and
Alyssa had a blast riding together.
My mom and Joel's parents are here with us, so in the afternoon they
took the boys back for rests. We hung out with the Denneys for a
while, but eventually Maddy went with them and Joel and I got to ride
alone for a while. We've never been here together without kids before,
and we had so much fun. Space Mountain and Big Thunder twice (or 3x?)
and we even rode the big paddle boat! Later we hooked back up with
our fam for dinner and more rides. We decided that Disneyland is
definitely better with our babes.
