How Does Your Garden Grow...

First of all, I would like to say that I love, love, LOVE having my husband home! (He is on sabbatical until May 19.) It is so fun to have him here, helping with the daily grind, and working on projects. Earlier this week he made a fire pit that we've been wanting for a while. Today we put Carter and Molly in the wagon, Garrett on the bike, and walked to nearby Winco to get flowers and seeds. We had fun picking out a bunch of annuals for our pots, and seeds for our various beds around the yard.

This evening, we all worked outside getting things in the ground. We planted watermelon, honeydew, acorn squash, onions, lettuce, broccoli, and carrots (multi colored)! Joel cut back the existing chives and artichokes. Hopefully tomorrow we can plant the sunflowers, corn, peas, beans, tomatoes, and pumpkins too! We haven't had the best weather so far this spring, but this evening we got some sun, so it was perfect! I just love having a garden!

I love having a garden too. Every year I have to resist the urge to plant too early. Everytime the sun comes out I want to run out and plant everything, and then it inevitably snows or just freezes over. You're a little bit south of us so you'll probably warm up sooner, but I wait til Mothers day just to be safe!
